The Play Centre has 4 rooms. We do not separate the children into age groups, we encourage the children to play together, helping each other, learn and share.
Adventurers - 3-5 Years
This is a large bright room providing facilities for the children to both learn and play.
As the children arrive in the morning they settle into an activity in small groups. The activities vary each session and last until registration and story time.
We love to hear any news the children may have to tell us.
A topic is set each term and runs through the setting for both Adventurers and Explorers. Working at different levels taking into account the children’s individual needs.
The ‘Home Corner’ is perfect to see the children explore in role play with each other.
This room is where the children can enjoy free play painting, drawing, sand, water and anything that is messy.
Snack time is at 10.00am and is always a healthy option with milk or water.
Lunch is at 12.00pm. The children bring in a packed lunch hot or cold. Food can be heated.
We ask that sweets and chocolate are kept for a treat outside of the setting.
Although we do not have immediate outdoor space we do have daily use of the school field a short walk from the Play Centre and is fully secure.
We visit the village library once a week choosing new books, taking part in any activities arranged. Each child is able to choose their own book to be kept at the setting for one week. We go out on lovely village walks to spot the trains, count cars, find resources and enjoy the fresh air.
